When the officers of the 28th Infantry Division returned from Europe after World War I, they began holding reunions and dedicating shrines here on the original training grounds of Colonel Theodore D. Boal's mounted machine gun troop. This tradition continues each spring when soldiers and airmen from armories across the Commonwealth gather to honor the service and sacrifice of their fallen comrades in a program of thoughtful remembrance.
Helicopters, military vehicles, and equipment arrive in the morning. The ceremony begins at 12:30.
