Design Your Own Flag
On June 14, 1777, the Second Continental Congress officially adopted the flag of the United States. Since then, our flag has had several stars added, representing each of the States, requiring variations to their constellation or pattern. Since it’s adoption, our flag has been flown above buildings, raised above hilltops during battles, and even draped across the caskets of our fallen.
Many times, flags are designed in ways that illustrate a story, meaning, a particular culture, or even religion. These flags utilize various colors, shapes, geometric patterns, and even animals.
If you were to create/design a flag, what would it look like? This weekend, design your own flag with friends and families… click here to download the activity sheet!
