Join the Pennsylvania Military Museum on Saturday, October 25, at 6PM for the program, Spirits of the Shrine: Hidden Histories of Sacrifice. At the onset of World War I, Theodore Davis Boal, a prominent citizen and wealthy landowner of Centre County, privately-funded a machine gun company for the Pennsylvania National Guard (redesignated the 28th Infantry Division). Boal later hosted a reunion on his estate in 1919, dedicating a memorial to the fallen soldiers of the unit. This simple ceremony established what is today the 28th Infantry Division National Shrine. By attending this guided tour of sacrifice, visitors will learn of the personal stories of those brave individuals whose memories are etched in stone. Admission is $15 per person. Donations are encouraged. Contributions benefit the Pennsylvania Military Museum.
