Sam Washburn will speak on “The Role of the U. S. Coast Survey.”  Mr. Washburn will discuss the formation of the U. S. Coast Survey and the map-making for the federal Army. He is Captain of the U. S Coast Survey Mapping Detachment. Mr. Washburn will bring tools, inks, and maps used in Civil War map-making. Lecture will take place in the Museum’s theater. No Admission Required.
